Never did I ever think that my little ol’ studio would be the host of so many memories for so many clients. I curated a small personal shoot alongside another photographer to really start honing in on some of the new techniques and education I learned this past winter. My intention with the shoot was to focus more on the connection of the couple while giving them a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to be themselves. This will be something for my couples to begin thinking about when planning their photo session with me. My approach to my sessions and work is straying away from posed and planned to unposed and true to reality and true to my couples. So with all that in mind, that’s what we did. A super simple and intimate studio date shoot. We had a delish charcuterie board from the best of the best, Hillside Catering here in Montoursville and a simple white sheet setup. Having a more simple setup made for less distractions which created more connected moments. So while shooting this incredibly easy going and relaxed shoot, we were informed by the boyfriend that he wanted to propose! (SO SWEET! *insert watery eye emoji*). This being my first surprise proposal, I didn’t ask for a cue but instead we just let it unfold naturally in front of us. I think not knowing kind of made the moment feel more organic and true rather than planned or created. The proposal totally changed the dynamic of the rest of the shoot and they really exuded so much emotion and excitement. I attached some of my favorite shots that I think really captured these two in their own element.
