Fall weddings hold a close place in my heart. Fall is my freaking anthem. The trees paint the background with the coziest fall tones and the light oddly enough hits different. Before photography I just looked at sunset and sunrise the same all year round. As I shot more and more I noticed that the sun actually hits different throughout the year. I noticed this while editing their sunset portraits. The summer offers contrasty and brighter sunsets, and I feel like fall offers really low contrast and really amber light closer to sunset. Sunrise, not sure. I am not an early riser haha. But this all must do with how the sun is positioned or something. Regardless, it made for some really beautiful portraits throughout the day at one of my favorite local venues, Herman and Luthers. I find that no matter the weather, no matter the time of year, Herman Luthers is a cake walk in regards to getting quality light and amazing photos. Picking a venue with optimal natural light in the reception space, ceremony space and definitely the getting ready space is SO important. Having more natural light removes one major obstacle for your photographer thus allowing us to worry more about creating and less about the technical stuff. Here are some of my favs from their wedding in October!
