Every winter I take on as much education as I can to start the upcoming wedding season with a refreshed perspective. This year I invested in a mentorship with Brittany Boote Photography that focused on so many different aspects. One of the main topics that we went over was storytelling. “Storytelling” can feel like a buzzword sometimes. It seems like so many photographers have it in their instagram bio “storyteller” or “storytelling style”. And truthfully, I felt like I had a clear understanding and grasp on what it is. I went into this mentorship with the idea that I thought it was and left with a refreshed and renewed direction. In short, I knew what storytelling was, but didn’t know exactly how to implement it in meaningful and true way. This shoot focused on just that and I loved every bit of the creativity that flowed while photographing it.
